About Us

Discount America Hobby & Motor Sports in Monroe, WI, has been a premier RC hobby shop since 2002. Whether you're a hobbyist, racer, or kid at heart, we have something fun and exciting for everyone. We offer high-quality RC trucks, planes, boats, helicopters, and drones. We offer both indoor and outdoor RC racing year-round, as well as RC rentals if you just want to try it out. Additionally, we sell used vehicles, motorsports, scooters, and E-bikes, and we service them too. Our collision department works hard after a collision to ensure repairs are done right. Insurance claims are welcome. We are extremely passionate, knowledgeable, and take pride in providing Monroe and the surrounding areas with exceptional customer service. Racing is for everyone, young and old. Come join us for a race! All are welcome to watch for free.

Our Story

Our founder, Ryan Mellenberger, has been passionate about RC racing since he was just a kid, and his passion for the hobby only grew as the years went on. He had previously worked in the auto body industry, and wanted to combine this experience with his passion for racing to create a business that would give hobbyists the ability to expand and explore their interests. Discount America Hobby & Motor Sports was established in 2002 to do just that. For over 20 years we’ve been providing a space for our customers to have fun practicing their hobbies while offering the products and services to meet the needs of a growing community.

We’re a jack of all trades, and have our hand in a little bit of everything. We offer an expansive collection of RC vehicles and parts, as well as an indoor and outdoor racing track to practice and test out your RC, as well as a flying field for your drones or RC planes to glide through the sky. We offer a variety of motorsport and outdoor vehicles sales and repair, including dirt bikes, ATVs, scooters, motorcycles and more. We carry the top brands and products so you know you’re getting the highest quality when you shop with us. Our owner’s background in automotive body work allows us to be one of the best around if your vehicle is damaged or needs a touch up. We also provide repairs and service on a majority of our products so we can get you back on the road or in the air in no time at all.

Our expansive knowledge and attention to detail are what set us apart from our competitors. We’re here to help with any questions you may have and to help you progress through your hobby. We all started somewhere, and we want to help you avoid beginner’s mistakes and set you down the right path. Unlike when you buy online, we’re able to provide knowledge and recommendations in real time to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. We care about our customers being happy and satisfied with their product or service, and we want them to enjoy their hobby as successfully as possible.

You won’t believe your eyes when you see our multi-thousand square foot showroom with thousands of different products that are ever-changing. We have one of the biggest inventories in the Midwest, and we’re beyond blessed to be able to provide the opportunities to explore different hobbies and items for our community and growing customer base. We pride ourselves on being there for our community like they’ve been there for us. We offer free driving lessons, free tuning, and free admission to watch any of our RC races. We strive to be as comprehensive as a business as possible, always willing to go above and beyond for our customers.

Hands down the best hobby shop for MILES around. Been shopping here for years and stopped in the other day to grab a slipper clutch assembly. Got home and installed it only to have it explode on the 2nd battery! I brought the part back upto them and showed them where it failed and they handed me a new one off the shelf! Was just a random manufacturer defect but they took care of the situation.
